Led by our board-certified OB/GYN, Dr. Simone Sealy, our team offers a wide array of innovative treatments, therapies, and in-office procedures. From preconception counseling, pregnancy care, and birth control to gynecological procedures, in-office hysteroscopy, ablations, and hormonal consultations, the Bahamas Wellness Health System has the talented staff, facilities, and resources to fulfill every patient’s unique needs.
From prenatal to postpartum care, we help expecting mothers plan and ensure a safe and healthy pregnancy before, during, and after delivery. We take tests and constantly monitor the health of mom and baby to keep everyone safe and reduce risk of conditions developing and complications occurring. In each trimester, we perform necessary tests and exams, and depending on family history, offer suggestions on optional genetic testing, as well.
Safe pregnancies begin well before the thought of carrying a child. We offer counseling before conception to provide education and risk assessments in an attempt to minimize undesired outcomes for the mother and her baby. We take note of family history, health conditions, lifestyle, medications, and vaccinations to help the mother understand and prepare their body for the next nine months. Whether it’s your first baby or second set of twins, we can help you get ready for a healthy, enjoyable, and comfortable pregnancy, labor, and delivery.
There are variety of devices, medications, and procedures that help men and women prevent conception. We offer natural suggestions like abstaining from sex, barrier methods such as condoms, hormonal methods like injections, implants such as intrauterine devices (IUDs), and surgical methods like tying a woman’s tubes. All of these options are available after careful patient-physician consideration to figure out the best option in preventing an unwanted pregnancy.
Gynecology procedures are those involving the organs of the woman’s pelvic area. Sometimes, these procedures are to treat conditions like fibroids and prolapse, other times they can be used as a method of irreversible birth control. One can also be recommended after receiving abnormal results from a Pap smear.
A hysteroscopy involves a thin, lighted tube inserted through the vagina and into the cervix for the doctor to see and determine medical conditions. Your physician may be looking for the cause of abnormal bleeding or whether there are fibroids and polyps that need to be extracted. We perform this procedure in-office for comfort and may not require anesthesia.
If you have heavy periods, ablation surgery may be a viable option for you. Ablation involves destroying the uterine lining to reduce menstrual flow or stop it entirely. This procedure is often an alternative to a hysterectomy as it does not require any incisions and can reduce the likelihood of uterine infections.
Balanced hormones are characteristics of optimal health. As women age and have children, hormone levels rise, fall, and are constantly disrupted. Our hormone consultations involve an evaluation of medical history and lab tests, followed by an interpretation of results and development of a custom treatment plan.
